Program services include training and support to region teachers and administrators regarding dyslexia and related disorders. Professional development, products, and services are available in the following areas: awareness of characteristics of dyslexia and related disorders; information on testing and diagnosis of dyslexia; information on effective strategies for teaching dyslexic students; and awareness of information on accommodation, especially accommodations allowed on standardized testing.

Dyslexia support services are designed to improve the outcome for individuals with dyslexia and related disorders. The ESC-2 Education Specialist-Dyslexia offers trainings and technical assistance to address the needs of educators and students in the areas of intervention, identification, and instructional services.
Services
- Point of contact for students, parents, districts, charter schools, and community stakeholders in the area of dyslexia
- Assist with disseminating information to Region 2 LEAs from The Dyslexia Handbook, Revised 2018
- Present the Texas Dyslexia Identification Academy modules to Region 2 LEAs
- Provide professional development for administrators, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders who serve students with dyslexia
Technical Assistance
- Provide technical assistance and guidance on dyslexia legislation, intervention, identification, and instructional services
- Disseminate information from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) regarding The Texas Dyslexia Handbook, Revised 2018
- Address relevant dyslexia topics and critical issues and provide resources to campus contacts
